In order to enhance the passenger experience, all duty free electronic stores at Bandaranaike International Airport have been positioned on the second floor of the arrivals terminal building.
Today, the opening ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.
In addition to this, the construction includes shifting of 31 duty free shops from the first floor to the second floor, two escalators, two glass elevators, steel stairs, extension of three existing elevators and construction of four bathrooms.
Airports and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) earmarked Rs 225 million for this relocation and added a total of 1,900 square meters of new land.
