Driving licenses for the hearing impaired.

Mr. Bandula Gunawardena, the Minister of Transport, states that the program of providing driving licenses for hearing impaired people will be implemented from this year and the first phase of this will be started from Gampaha district.

The minister said that it is reported that there are between 6-8 lakh people with hearing impairment in Sri Lanka and that they are ready to issue driving licenses under a special marking system.
